20 kN Testbed
In the year 2000 we started developing a mobile test infrastructure for hybrid rocket engines. It's heart is a 20 kN hybrid rocket testbed.
Hybrid rockets use solid fuels and liquid (or gaseous) oxydizers to produce a high velocity hot gas stream that propells the rocket. These Hybrid rocket engines are special, they are inherently safe but powerful and therefor very suitable for manned spaceflight ( 'Spaceship One' ) and for general small business approaches to space travel, where high security demands for explosives are not affordable.
This testbed is designed for scientific research and learning the skills of rocket engineering. This is a lot of work and still our main project.
